The Lord Jesus Christ
Suffered and Died For Us All !

All humanity needs to be informed and/or reminded of what the Lord Jesus Christ has done for us all. It is good for God’s children to be reminded of the suffering that Jesus endured for us. It is good for lost mankind to be informed how much Jesus Christ, the Son of God, loves them and the suffering He endured for them. Jesus suffered and died for the sins of all humanity. He suffered and died for you and me.

This little booklet is a reminder of His great love that He has for us all. It is also a reminder of the great cost for the gift, eternal life, that God will give to everyone who will receive His Son as their personal Saviour. The terrible suffering that Jesus willingly went through for us all shows us how terrible our sins really are.

The scriptures tell us at least some of HOW and WHAT Jesus suffered for us, yet we can never fully comprehend the tremendous degree and depth of the suffering He endured. Since Jesus is fully man, and fully God also, there may be ways in which He suffered that we do not know about, nor able to comprehend even if we did know.

However Jesus suffered and the degree and depth of His suffering, it was sufficient, satisfactory and fully acceptable to the Father. Jesus satisfied the Father’s requirement for the full payment of all of mankind’s sins.

Jesus suffered emotionally, spiritually, physically and perhaps in other ways we do not know about.
Following are some of HOW and WHAT Jesus suffered for us. Again, this does not indicate HOW MUCH Jesus suffered in these things. At best this list will always be incomplete.

Hopefully, this reminder of Jesus’ suffering will encourage the lost person to receive Jesus as his personal Saviour, and for His children to continue to be faithful servants of the Lord during these last days in one of His true New Testament churches.

HOW AND WHAT JESUS CHRIST SUFFERED FOR US: (these are in no particular order)

-He was made to be sin for us (II Corinthians 5:21), His soul was made an offering for sin (Isaiah 53:10).
-He was made to be a curse for us (Deuteronomy 21:23; Galatians 3:13).
-He died spiritually. On the cross, for the first time ever He was separated from fellowship with the Father (Psalm 22:1; Matthew 27:46; Mark 15:34).
-His soul was made an offering for sin (Isaiah 53:10).
-His soul was in travail (Isaiah 53:11).
-He tasted, experienced, death, spiritual and physical, for every person (Hebrews 2:9).
-He groaned in the Spirit (John 11:33, 38).
-He grieved and was acquainted with grief (Isaiah 53:3; Mark 3:5).
-He bare our sins in His own body (I Peter 2:24).
-He endured severe temptations by the devil (Matthew 4:1-11; Mark 1:12, 13; Luke 4:1-13; Hebrews 4:15).
-He was scourged (Matthew 27:26; Mark 15:15; John 19:1). His flesh was ripped and torn.
-He was buffeted (Matthew 26:67; Mark 14:65). The Roman soldiers smote Him with their hands (John 19:3).
-He was spit on and in His face (Matthew 26:67 27:30; Mark 14:65 15:19).
-A crown of thorns was put on His head and was hit on the head with a reed (Matthew 27:29, 30; Mark 15:17, 19; John 19:2). Thorns, long and very sharp.
-He was crucified. His hands and feet were nailed to a cross (Matthew 27:26, 31, 35; Mark 15:13-15, 24, 25; Luke 23:33; John 19:16-20; Acts 2:23, 36 4:10-12)
-He gave His back to the smiters (Isaiah 50:6).
-In an agony He prayed in the garden and “..his sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling down to the ground” (Luke 22:44). He prayed to the Father to remove this cup, only if it was the Father’s will (Luke 22:42). Jesus always wanted the Father’s will done.
-He was beaten beyond recognition as Jesus and even as a man, “As many were astonied at thee; his visage was so marred more than any man, and his form more than the sons of men:” (Isaiah 52:14).
-He gave His cheeks to those who plucked off the hair (Isaiah 50:6).
-On the cross, all of His bones were out of joint (Psalm 22:14).
-He was betrayed to death by a friend, Judas Iscariot, for thirty pieces of silver (Matthew 10:4 26:14,15, 50), and betrayed Him with a kiss (Luke 22:47, 48).
-He was denied three times by the Apostle Peter (Matthew 26:70, 72, 74; Mark 14:68, 70, 71; Luke 22:57, 58, 60.; John 18:17, 25, 27).
-He was struck with the hand of one of the Jewish officers (John 18:22).
-When He was praying in the garden His disciples were sleeping (Matthew 26:40, 43, 45; Mark 14:37, 40, 41; Luke 22:45).
-He prayed with “strong crying and tears” unto the Father (Hebrews 5:7).
-He wept (John 11:14, 35).
-He came to His own people, the nation of Israel, but they received Him not (John 1:11), though He loved them.
-The people railed on Him as He was on the cross (Mark 15:29) and so did one of the malefactors (Luke 23:39).
-He was mocked (Matthew 27:29, 41; Mark 15:20, 31; Luke 22:63 23:11, 36).
-He was reviled (Matthew 27:39 Mark 15:32 I Peter 2:23).
-He suffered for us (Luke 22:15 24:26 Acts 3:18 17:3 Hebrews 2:10, 18 5:8 13:12 I Peter 2:21, 23 3:18 4:1).
-He was forsaken by all of His disciples (Matthew 26:56; Mark 14:50).
-He saw His mother see Him suffering on the cross and having been severely scourged (John 19:26).
-In Nazareth, where He was brought up, those in the synagogue were filled with wrath against Him, “And all they in the synagogue, when they heard these things, were filled with wrath, And rose up, and thrust him out of the city, and led him unto the brow of the hill whereon their city was built, that they might cast him down headlong” (Luke 4:28, 29). They wanted to kill Him.
-He endured the shame of publicly hanging naked nailed to the cross (Matthew 27:35 Luke 23:34 John 19:23, 24 Hebrews 12:2). He did not hide His face from shame and spitting (Isaiah 50:6).

-From Isaiah 53 we are told the following things that Jesus suffered and endured for us:
-He is despised and rejected of men.
-He is a man of sorrows. He carried our sorrows.
-We esteemed Him not. We esteemed Him stricken, smitten of God and afflicted.
-Surely he hath borne our griefs.
-He was wounded for our transgressions.
-He was bruised for our iniquities.
-The chastisement of our peace was upon Him.
-The LORD hath laid on Him the iniquity of us all.
-He was oppressed, and He was afflicted.
-He was taken from prison and from judgment.
-He was cut off out of the land of the living.
-“Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, ..” (Isaiah 53:10).
-He bear our iniquities.
-He poured out His soul unto death.
-He bare the sin of many.

All the suffering that Jesus endured, He endured for your sake and mine, for the sake of every person.
He died for us, so that through Him we might live, eternally with Him.
Jesus died for our sins, but remember, Jesus is alive!
Jesus said, "I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death" (Revelation 1:18).

What great love! What a great Saviour!
